Filming Amandayan was a project that invited us to slow down and truly immerse ourselves in the place. As a team of multi-hyphenated creatives—photographers, filmmakers, and creative directors—we approached it not simply as a shoot, but as a careful observation of culture, light, and atmosphere.

Our process began with listening and watching. We observed how light moved across courtyards, brushed along wooden details, and shifted across the temple exterior. Morning sunlight brought warmth and contrast, highlighting carved surfaces and the textures of stone and wood.

By afternoon, softer, diffused light invited a quieter, more contemplative mood. In every shot, we let the light and structure guide rhythm and timing, capturing the cultural and architectural essence of the place.

Capturing morning Taichi at Amandayan, we focused on the interplay of movement, architecture, and light.

The early golden light highlighted textures and cast fluid shadows across the courtyards, while drone footage provided expansive perspectives of the practice within its environment.
